Desert Highway

I was down to about 1/4 tank of gas after the Canyon, but didn’t want to go back down the 180 to Williams. So I gambled on getting to Cameron via the Desert Highway – US64. I’m glad I did. Its probably the most sensational drive I have ever done, helped along with Back in Black by the DC blasting out of the stereo. Again – photos just cant possibly do it justice.

Finished up in a Super 8 motel in Flagstaff. 65 bucks for the night.

  1. Trunk. Gas. Bucks. Truck. You’re turning native son and speaking American after only a couple of days in the wild! Glad you reached Flagstaff ok after your exciting drive, Where next?

    1. Nothing wrong with using a bit of the local lingo. If I walk into a gas station in the middle of Shitkicker, Arizona and say “morning old chap – any chance of a can of petrol that I can put in my boot?” they’re going to either laugh at me, or kill me.

  2. Nonsense! They’ll find it charmingly quaint. Though they might laugh once you’ve gone!
