Things then really picked up – another 100+ miles loomed, but it was up over the mountains on the 96 past this rather lovely lake at Abiquiu Dam.
This road was brilliant – properly twisty, and totally empty – with the odd weird flyblown “hills have eyes” town en route. And for the ‘American cars don’t go round corners” brigade – I think the Dodge handles really well at speed on the bends. Quite hard to oversteer but I think the fact I have 2 heavy cases in the boot has calmed it down a bit – it doesnt wheelspin like it did on day 1 in Vegas when there was just me in the car.
